This cedar, which actually isn't a cedar at all...but truly a juniper, is abundant with protective qualities and good fortune. The Cherokee believed it held the spirits of their ancestors, making it an exceptionally sacred tree. Traditionally it was burnt as incense during ceremonies, worn around the neck as protection and used in meditation.
